A series of images shot of large-scale digital screen installations and TV screens under circumstances of ‘imperfect’ signal or image.

Whilst we are used to the notion of digital images being ‘perfect’, but what happens when things are not perfect ? it is actually the imperfection of the image that is of interest to the photographer. These images exist and are captured only in a split second – in situations of malfunction or interruption to signal, never to be re-created again. These photographs explore and highlight the imperfect nature of digital imagery and the inherent aesthetic that exists in that fleeting split-second.

The series was begun in 2005 and is ongoing.
